How it works on Joyle

  1. 1

    Gift ideas from any store

Paste links from the registry or any shop. Everyone sees the photo and price, votes, and reserves what they're buying.

  2. 2

    One gift from everyone

Choose the big item together and everyone sends their share with Venmo, PayPal or Cash App. You see who's paid and what's left.

  3. 3

    RSVPs and to-dos

Guests reply with one tap. Hand out the jobs (venue, food, games, flowers) and Joyle sends friendly reminders.

Bridal shower or bachelorette?

They're different parties. A bridal shower is a daytime get-together where friends and family shower the bride with gifts for her new home and life. A bachelorette is a night out with the closest friends. Many brides have both, a few weeks apart.

When and who

Showers usually happen 1–3 months before the wedding, after the invitations are out and the registry is ready. The maid of honor, the bridesmaids or a close relative usually host, and it's easier when several people share the work.

Invite people who are also invited to the wedding. It's kind to ask the bride for her guest list rather than guessing.

Budget and splitting costs

Keep the gift and the party separate. Guests often spend $50–100 on a shower gift, or chip in together for one larger item from the registry. The hosts usually cover the party itself and split it among themselves.

Agree on the numbers early and collect money before ordering, so nobody ends up fronting the whole bill.

A simple timeline

  • 8–10 weeks before the shower: pick the date, the place and the co-hosts.
  • 6 weeks before: send the invite link and collect gift ideas from the registry.
  • 4 weeks before: vote on a group gift and ask everyone to chip in.
  • 2 weeks before: order the gift, confirm food, flowers and games.
  • The week of: last reminders, then celebrate the bride.

Questions people ask

When should you have a bridal shower?

Usually 1–3 months before the wedding, once the registry is ready and the wedding invitations are out.

Who hosts the bridal shower?

Often the maid of honor, the bridesmaids or a close relative. Co-hosting is common and spreads both the work and the costs.

How much do guests spend on a shower gift?

Many spend $50–100. A group gift lets people put in what they're comfortable with and still give one meaningful present.

Can it be a surprise for the bride?

Yes. In surprise mode the bride doesn't see the event at all. In wishlist mode she can add wishes without seeing who reserved or paid for what.

Does Joyle collect the money?

No. Everyone pays the organizer directly in the app they already use, like Venmo, PayPal or Cash App. Joyle only keeps track of who sent their share.

Do guests need an account?

No. Guests join from a link with just their name. Only the organizer creates an account. It's free for up to 10 people, and bigger groups can unlock Joyle Plus with a one-time payment.
